“PAC transforms early-stage investment into systemic impact across agricultural carbon markets."
What PAC Does
Policy & Governance
Supporting governments in the development of regulatory frameworks and national strategies that enable high-integrity agricultural carbon markets.
Capacity Building
Designing and delivering training programs for policymakers, technical experts, and extension agents to accelerate readiness and implementation at scale.
Tools & Data
Developing regional public goods such as the Ag Carbon Policy Tracker, Investment Readiness Index, and policy briefs to support decision-making and coordination.
Peru advances high-integrity agricultural carbon markets
PAC has supported national stakeholders in Peru—including MIDAGRI, ADEX, and IICA—in advancing the development of the National Agricultural Carbon Strategic Agenda (AENCA).
- Strengthening governance frameworks for agricultural carbon markets
- Supporting the development of technical guidelines for GHG accounting
- Advancing best practices for emission reduction in agriculture
- Aligning national efforts with international frameworks such as ICVCM and Article 6
These efforts position Peru as a potential regional leader in high-integrity agricultural carbon markets.
“The process we have been promoting for the development of agricultural carbon in Peru has been strengthened thanks to the support of the PAC, which has contributed to generating spaces for technical dialogue and the development of guidelines aimed at promoting carbon projects in the agricultural sector. The contributions gathered will allow us to move forward in building the National Strategic Agenda for Agricultural Carbon (AENCA), a key roadmap for creating enabling conditions, mobilizing climate finance, and ensuring that the development of agricultural carbon translates into concrete, inclusive, and sustainable benefits for family farmers, who play a central role in the management of our agricultural systems.”
