Investment Readiness for Agricultural Carbon: Country Snapshots Using PAC’s IRI
The Investment Readiness Index (IRI) is PAC’s flagship tool for assessing the enabling environment for high-integrity, inclusive agricultural carbon markets across countries. It provides a structured, evidence-based method to identify policy, institutional, and financial gaps that constrain investment in climate-smart agriculture.
This inaugural Policy Brief series applies the IRI to seven countries in Latin America, offering short, policy-oriented profiles that highlight national strengths, challenges, and actionable pathways to enhance readiness for carbon finance. Each case study is presented independently, without ranking, to support constructive engagement and knowledge-sharing.
The methodology includes five pillars:
- Enabling Policy & Regulation,
- Institutional Capacity,
- Financial Systems & De-risking,
- Market Ecosystem & Innovation, and
- Inclusiveness & Farmer Engagement.
